Good morning everyone! Last night the Marion County City-County Council voted to lift the mask mandate in Marion County for vaccinated individuals. We ask that if you or any member of your family has NOT BEEN VACCINATED, that you continue to wear a mask while in the clinic. We ask for your continued patience as we work through some of the new procedures and adjust to our new "normal for now". We will currently still try to minimize the number of folks in the lobby at any given time so we ask that you continue to follow these guidelines for the time being:
1. When you arrive for your appointment, please call 317-721-6110. One of our staff members will reach out and direct you into the building as soon as we have a room available for you and your pet.
2. Depending on the number of clients in the building at any given time, we may ask you to check out in the exam room instead of in the lobby.
3. We will continue to service technician appointments such as antigen injections, Cytopoint injections, etc. via carside. Please call 317-721-6110 when you arrive and a technician will be out to get your pet as soon as possible.
4. Medication refills will still be handled via carside as well. Please call 317-721-6110 when you arrive and we will bring the medication or diet to your car.
Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.

Starting Monday, June 1st, AADCI will begin to transition back to seeing patients with scheduled appointments inside the building instead of carside. This will be done with an abundance of caution, and we ask for your patience as we work through some of the new procedures and adjust to our new "normal for now". Here are a few of the highlights:
1. When you arrive for your appointment, please call 317-721-6110. One of our technicians will be out to get you and your pet as soon as an exam room is open. You will be escorted right to the exam room We will try to avoid having folks in the lobby due to social distancing guidelines.
2. We will allow a MAXIMUM of two people with their pet into the exam room for each appointment. Others will be asked to remain in the car.
3. Depending on the number of clients in the building at any given time, we may ask you to check out in the exam room instead of in the lobby.
We will continue to service technician appointments such as antigen injections, Cytopoint injections, etc. via carside. Please call 317-721-6110 when you arrive and a technician will be out to get your pet as soon as possible.

Update from your AADCI team :)
Good morning everyone!
Yesterday, the Governor introduced Executive Order 20-18 which declared a public health emergency exists throughout the State of Indiana as the results of the coronavirus outbreak. He issued a "shelter in place" effective from 11:59 p.m. on March 24, 2020 that would remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on April 6, 2020 (unless modified). Individuals are ordered to stay at home or their place of residence, except as allowed by this Executive Order.
Under this Executive Order, veterinary businesses are classified as Essential Businesses on the Operations List.
We remain open to serve our clients and our veterinary patients during our regular hours at this time. We have instituted "carside" appointments as described in my update below, and those are going well. We remain happy to refill your medication, antigens, or other supplies that you might need and are happy to ship them to you or to bring them to the car for you.
Thank you for your patience everyone! We as a staff meet daily to discuss what is working, what we can improve on, and how we can best continue to serve you during these trying times. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything!
Stay safe and stay well!
All our love,
Lori Thompson, DVM, DACVD

To our amazing AADCI clients,
During these crazy times, like many of you, we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 impact in our area. Our entire AADCI team is currently healthy and our priority is to stay healthy all the while providing the best care to our patients. All measures taken are strictly precautionary. We have created a plan for social distancing effective immediately. This will hopefully allow us to stay open and able to serve you longer. If a “shelter in place” order is issued, veterinary hospitals will hopefully be deemed “essential” and we will be able to stay open as long as none of our staff or Doctors are affected. Please be patient as we make changes to do the best for our clients, patients, and the community.
Many other veterinary hospitals impacted by Coronavirus are trying to remain open for service by restricting access. Many are providing care in their parking lot or run the risk of having to close for an indefinite amount of time. Shutting our doors would be detrimental to our patients. Although this may seem to be an inconvenience, please know that precautionary measures have been implemented in hopes of allowing us to continue to provide the best patient care possible and minimize the chance of us not being readily available to you and your pets when you need us most.
As of today, we have normal business hours and will be available for all appointments.
Effective Monday, 3/23/20
Thank you for working with us to try and remain open and able to safely care for your pets! Please know that we take the health and safety of your pet and your family very seriously. Stay safe and thank you for your patience as we navigate these unusual times.
Sincerely,
Lori Thompson, DVM

- If you have experienced flu-like symptoms, been near someone with symptoms, or traveled outside of the state in the past 14 days – PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE HOSPITAL. Should your pet need care, please provide alternate transportation from friends or family. Please call ahead to inform staff so we can prepare.
- NON-URGENT questions or concerns: please EMAIL us at [email protected].
- As an abundance of caution, we are limiting public access and initiating "carside" appointments.
- WE ARE ASKING EVERYONE TO CALL WHEN YOU ARRIVE AND REMAIN IN YOUR CAR (317-721-6110). We have 4 phone lines, but if it rolls to voicemail, please be patient and give us a moment. Thank you for your patience!
- When you arrive for your appointment, please call 317-721-6110 and we will send a staff member & doctor to your car. They can discuss further information as needed, and escort your pet inside with one of our own leashes. Many of your pets know us well and feel comfortable joining us in the clinic for treatment. If this causes additional stress, or if your pet is car protective, we will ask you to escort your pet to our enclosed foyer and transfer your pet to us there, then to please return to your car during the examination. We will also collect payment over the phone whenever possible.
- Once your pet has been examined, a doctor will either call you or come out to the car to discuss the care needed and a staff member will provide estimates as usual.
- PLEASE REST ASSURED, WE WANT TO MAKE THESE VISITS AS STRESS FREE AS POSSIBLE FOR YOUR PET (and for you). We cannot provide anti-anxiety medication for humans, but we can provide e-collars to help keep you from touching your face :)
- We will greet you with a smile instead of a handshake to practice social distancing.
- We normally clean and disinfect the clinic and clinic surfaces several times per day. This has been ramped up with the current health concerns and we are taking extra precautions with our exam rooms, treatment areas, and any public areas. Our staff is following the CDC hand washing protocols between patients. We have deep cleaning protocols in place.
- We are more than happy to ship your medication refills to you if you would prefer not to pick them up from the clinic. We ship everything UPS, so we will happily provide you a tracking number so you can monitor the progress of your package.
Thank you for working with us to try and remain open and able to safely care for your pets! Please know that we take the health and safety of your pet and your family very seriously. Stay safe and thank you for your patience as we navigate these unusual times.
Sincerely,
Lori Thompson, DVM

The health and safety of our clients, staff members, their families and our community are our top priority. We are diligently monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and are closely watching official information from health authorities as it relates to our community.
AADCI Hospital Closure Concerns: Unless dictated by the local health authorities and as long as our staff remain healthy, our hospital will remain open. The ramifications of closure of any medical care provider may seem daunting, but we will not risk the health and safety of our clients, staff members, their families, and our community.
Medications: While we remain open for business, we recognize many of our clients would appreciate the added convenience of refilling medications from home. We do ship many types of prescriptions, as long as they are stable at current ambient temperatures, directly to your home or office. Just call or email the clinic, or you can order from our online pharmacy.
ALL CLIENTS AND STAFF MEMBERS ARE REQUESTED TO STAY HOME AND BE FEVER-FREE FOR 24 HOURS WITHOUT MEDICATION FOR 24 HOURS PRIOR TO COMING TO THE CLINIC.
As per local Indiana Health Department, Center for Disease Control (CDC), and World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations, we ask that you self-monitor and alert us if appointment rescheduling is indicated to ensure that we do not perpetuate the spread of infection. We currently have a thorough process for the disinfection and cleaning of our entire facility including animal and human common areas; however, we will adjust procedures should new challenges arise and as directed by health authorities.
It is our sincere wish that you, your family, your friends, and all in our community remain safe and healthy. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office directly at 317-721-6110 or email us at [email protected].
