Registered veterinary technician

Animal Allergy & Dermatology Center of Indiana is a rapidly growing, 2 doctor practice located on the north side of Indianapolis .  Our veterinarians include one board-certified in veterinary dermatologist and one resident in veterinary dermatology.  Our practice is limited to the treatment of skin disorders (allergies, ears, immune-mediated disease, and more).
 
We are looking for an experienced, registered veterinary technician to join our team!  The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, enthusiastic, personable, and a team player.  Applicants must be highly motivated and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.  A love of client communication and education is a HUGE part of this position.
 
Well-rounded technical skills are critical.  This includes venipuncture (both jugular and peripheral veins), anesthetic induction and monitoring, proper restraint, knowledge of physiology and pharmacology.  The ideal candidate will enjoy client interaction and education, along with possessing exceptional customer service skills.
 
Our specialty hospital encompasses 3600 sq. ft. and includes 3 exam rooms, a treatment room, and a procedures room complete with a video otoscope and cryotherapy unit.  At AADCI we believe in providing top-notch service and compassionate care to our patients, while offering outstanding customer service.
 
Education requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • RVT degree from an accredited school of veterinary technology
 
Experience requirements:
  • 2 years MINIMUM veterinary clinic experience REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both clients and fellow team members
 
Job Requirements:
  • Medical record documentation (we use ezyVet, a cloud-based practice management system)
  • Place IV catheters, draw blood (jugular and peripheral veins), administer injections (subcutaneous and intramuscular), collect urine samples via cystocentesis
  • Dispense medication
  • Laboratory procedures:  skin scrapings, impression smears for cytology, ear swabs, fecals
  • Assist in all anesthetic procedures (intradermal skin testing, ear flushes, general anesthesia), monitoring, and recovery
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Assist with a multi-line phone system, appointment scheduling, and client check-in/check-out
  • Other duties as required by the job
